How Much Does a Lead Funnel Cost?
A lead funnel is the chain that turns a visitor into a subscriber, and often into a customer after that. At its simplest it’s a form that hands over a freebie in exchange for an email. At its fullest it’s a domain, a landing page, tracking, an email platform, and a sequence of emails all working together. Same idea, very different amounts of work, so the cost depends on how much of the chain you need built.
Rather than jump to a price, it helps to walk the funnel in the order it’s actually built, step by step. Each step below can be as light or as involved as the project needs. Here’s the path:
- Strategy & consultation
- Domain, hosting & platform setup
- Tracking setup
- The offer (lead magnet or payment instructions)
- Landing page
- Signup form & delivery
- Email sequence
- Ongoing
Instead of exact figures, each step shows a rough price level on a simple scale from Low to Premium (for example €€○○), since funnels vary too much to pin to fixed numbers. At the end, the steps come together into three typical packages.
Strategy & consultation
Strategy and consultation is the conversation that shapes the whole funnel before anything is built: what the offer is, who it’s for, and how the pieces should fit.
This usually covers
- clarifying the goal and the audience
- deciding the offer and the overall funnel shape
- planning which steps are actually needed
How common it is
Recommended for anything beyond the simplest funnel. A short call upfront prevents building the wrong thing.
Price level
€○○○ — Low. A focused call and a clear plan, not a drawn-out process.
Domain, hosting & platform setup
Domain, hosting and platform setup is the technical groundwork: a domain, somewhere to host the page, an email marketing platform, and the DNS records that keep emails landing in the inbox.
This can include
- registering a domain and setting up hosting
- setting up the email platform (MailerLite, Brevo, Kit, Kartra)
- DNS and authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
How common it is
Essential in some form. Even the simplest funnel needs an email platform and proper authentication; the domain and hosting depend on whether a page is being built.
Client input
The client provides domain access if one already exists, or a preferred name to register.
Price level
€€○○ — Low to Medium, depending on how much is set up from scratch.
Tracking setup
Tracking setup is putting the measurement tools in place so you can see what the funnel does: who visits, who signs up, and where they drop off.
This usually includes
- GA4 for traffic and conversions
- a Facebook pixel for ad tracking
- Microsoft Clarity for recordings and heatmaps
How common it is
Recommended for any funnel you plan to improve or advertise. Without it, you’re guessing at what works.
Price level
€€○○ — Low to Medium, depending on how many tools and how much configuration.
The offer: lead magnet or payment instructions
The offer is what people get in exchange for signing up. Usually that’s a free lead magnet, but the same funnel can instead lead to a paid product. Both are covered here.
Lead magnet consultation & strategy
Lead magnet consultation and strategy is help deciding what to offer and how to present it, so the incentive actually attracts the right people.
This can include
- choosing what the lead magnet should be
- how to frame and present it
- making sure it fits the audience and the offer that follows
How common it is
Recommended for anyone unsure what to offer. The lead magnet makes or breaks a funnel, so it’s worth getting right before building around it.
Client input
What the client knows about their audience and offer feeds directly into what makes a compelling incentive.
Price level
€○○○ — Low to Medium. Mostly the thinking that steers everything after it.
Lead magnet setup & design
Lead magnet setup and design is turning the content into a finished, on-brand file and getting it ready to deliver, whether the client wrote it or I shape it.
This can include
- designing the file (PDF, guide, checklist, and similar)
- preparing it for automated delivery
- or simply placing a client-written file into the funnel
How common it is
Common wherever a lead magnet is used. Ranges from just placing a client’s file to designing it from their raw content.
Client input
The client provides the content or raw material; the work is shaping and placing it, not writing it.
Price level
€€○○ — Low to High, depending on how much design is involved.
Delivery of payment instructions
Delivery of payment instructions is the paid alternative to a lead magnet: instead of a freebie, people who sign up receive instructions for paying for a product.
When this fits
- selling a product rather than giving something away
- useful for those without a registered company, taking payment to a personal account or a non-company association account
- for buyers abroad, redirecting to a service like FastSpring or Digistore24 is usually the better route
How common it is
An option in any package, for anyone selling directly through the funnel rather than offering something free.
Price level
€○○○ — Low. Setting up the message and delivery, not building a full checkout.
Landing page
The landing page is where people arrive and decide whether to sign up. It can be a page I design and build, or the client’s own existing page that I simply add a form to.
This can include
- designing and building the landing/capture page
- the thank-you and confirmation pages
- or working with a page the client already made and hosts
How common it is
Central to most funnels. The simplest setups reuse the client’s own page; fuller ones get a purpose-built page that’s made to convert.
Options
Basic: add a form to the client’s existing page. Standard: a purpose-built landing page. Premium: a full page with thank-you and confirmation, built to convert.
Price level
€€€○ — Low to Premium, depending on whether it’s built from scratch or reusing theirs.
Landing page copy
Landing page copy is the writing on that page: the words that get someone to actually hand over their email, separate from the design.
This can include
- a headline and framing that earn the signup
- clear, persuasive body copy
- the wording of the call to action
How common it is
Recommended for any purpose-built landing page. The copy does as much of the converting as the design, often more.
Client input
The offer and audience shape the copy; it works best written alongside the emails it leads into.
Price level
€€○○ — Low to High, depending on length and how much is written from scratch.
Signup form & delivery
The signup form and delivery is the mechanism that captures the email and hands over what was promised: the form itself, the automation behind it, and the delivery of the lead magnet or payment instructions.
This can include
- designing and styling the signup form
- connecting it and setting up the automation
- double opt-in setup where wanted, and delivering the lead magnet or payment instructions
How common it is
Essential to every funnel, since this is the actual capture-and-deliver step. Even the simplest setup needs this working reliably.
Options
Double opt-in is available as an option, adding a confirmation step before delivery.
Price level
€€○○ — Low to Medium, depending on form design and how much automation.
Email sequence
Beyond the first delivery email, a funnel usually continues with a sequence that nurtures the new subscriber and builds toward an offer. In practice, education and selling are combined in the same sequence rather than split apart.
Sequence strategy & consultation
Sequence strategy and consultation is planning what the emails should say and in what order, so the sequence warms people up and leads somewhere rather than just landing in the inbox.
This can include
- deciding how many emails and what each does
- the arc from welcome through to offer
- how education and selling blend across the emails
How common it is
Recommended before writing any sequence. It’s the difference between a planned journey and a pile of disconnected emails.
Price level
€€○○ — Low to Medium. The planning that makes the writing effective.
Sequence creation
Sequence creation is the emails themselves, blending useful content with a build-up toward the offer. I can handle this at whatever level suits: from scratch, improving what exists, or just advising.
This can include
- a welcome email that delivers and sets the tone
- a sequence that mixes education and selling
- design of the emails as well as the writing
How common it is
Recommended for any funnel meant to convert over time, not just collect emails. This is where a list turns into results.
Options
Three levels: write and design the full sequence from scratch, improve and build on an existing sequence, or review and suggest what to change.
Client input
The offer and audience shape the writing; existing drafts or notes speed it up.
Price level
€€€○ — Low to Premium, depending on length and how much is built from scratch.
Ongoing
Once a funnel is live, it can be left to run or actively looked after. The ongoing options below are monthly, and they’re where a one-time build turns into a continued working relationship.
Landing page hosting
Landing page hosting is hosting the funnel’s page (and any related pages) on a controlled, reliable environment, billed monthly.
This includes
- hosting the landing and related pages
- keeping them online and reliable
- a controlled environment I manage
How common it is
Common for clients who don’t have their own hosting, or who’d rather I keep the page running.
Price level
€○○○ — Low, billed monthly.
Monitoring & reporting
Monitoring and reporting is keeping an eye on how the funnel performs each month and reporting on it: signups, conversions, and where things can improve.
This can include
- tracking signups and conversion rates
- watching for drop-offs or issues
- a regular summary of how the funnel is doing
How common it is
Recommended for anyone treating the funnel as an ongoing channel rather than a set-and-forget build.
Price level
€€○○ — Low to Medium, billed monthly.
Optimization & testing
Optimization and testing is actively improving the funnel over time: testing pages, forms, and emails to lift how many visitors become subscribers and customers.
This can include
- A/B testing pages, forms, and subject lines
- adjusting copy and flow based on results
- steadily improving conversion over time
How common it is
Recommended for funnels with real traffic, where small improvements compound into meaningful gains.
Price level
€€€○ — Medium, billed monthly and worth most where volume is highest.
Email platform & list upkeep
Email platform and list upkeep is ongoing management of the sending side: keeping the list clean, deliverability healthy, and the platform running as it should.
This can include
- keeping the list clean and engaged
- maintaining deliverability and sender reputation
- managing the platform and automations over time
How common it is
Recommended for anyone sending regularly who’d rather not manage the platform themselves.
Price level
€€○○ — Low to Medium, billed monthly.
How it comes together: three typical packages
Most projects fall into one of three shapes, from a light form-and-freebie setup to a fully built and managed funnel. The scale beside each is the overall price level; any of them can deliver a lead magnet or, instead, payment instructions for a paid product.
Simple €○○○
You have a landing page you built and host yourself; I add a form connected to your email platform, set up DNS (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), place your lead magnet (you write it, I set it up), and create one email that delivers it. Instead of a lead magnet, this email can deliver payment instructions for a paid product. A quick way to start capturing leads with what you already have.
Standard €€○○
Starts with a strategy call, then adds a domain, hosting, and a purpose-built landing page, basic GA4, a Facebook pixel, and Microsoft Clarity, the landing page copy, the email platform setup, and a welcome email. A complete, properly built funnel rather than a bolt-on to an existing page.
Full €€€○
Everything in Standard, plus a short email sequence (written or improved, and designed by me), plus ongoing monthly work: monitoring, tracking, and optimization. A funnel that’s not just built but actively looked after and improved over time.
The reason a funnel resists a single price is that it stretches from one form and one email to a fully built and managed system. Both are “a lead funnel,” and they’re worlds apart in work. The useful next step is a short conversation about what you already have and how far you want to take it, and the scope, and the level, follow from there.
